英译：

Once,I let a true love slip away before my eyes
       Only to find myself regretting when it was too late.
       Nothing in the world can be as painful as this.

Just let your sword cut into my throat!
       Don’t hesitate!
       If the God would give me another chance,
       I would tell the girl I love her.
       If our love had to be set a time limit ,
       I wish it would be 10,000 years!

这是《大话西游》中最经典的台词，英译出自《疯狂英语》创始人李阳之手。表面看出现了复合句，似乎有些累赘，但是朗读起来却琅琅上口。其实正是那几个复合句体现出了原文的意境。

Once I let a true love slip away before my eyes only to find myself regretting when it is was too late. Nothing in the world can be as painful as this. Just let your sword cut into my throat! Don’t hesitate! If the God would give me another chance I would tell the girl I love her. If our love had to be set a time limit, I wish it would be ten thousand years!

第一句中的…when it was too late这句是表伴随的状语从句，而并非时间状语从句（不能理解为“当……时”，而应理解为“……而……”）；

最后一句“If our love had to be set a time limit, I wish it would be ten thousand years!”是一种虚拟语气的用法，表示“要是…….就好了”，if条件状语从句的时态要用一般过去时，而后面的主句则应为过去将来时。
